Yukari Fujiu is a singer-songwriter who resided in Japan when she was awarded Hit Prize by BMG Victor. After releasing two albums on Pony Canyon, she moved to London for recording sessions with Dave Stewart (Eurhythmics) and Gota Yashiki (Simply Red), as well as to start the band Cribabi with Andy Cox (Fine Young Cannibals, The Beat). Grasping the Best of British trophy from Virgin Mega Store, Yukari relocated her base to Los Angeles in 2004. While working as a rock musician, she has also been dedicated to traditional Japanese music which earned her an associate professor’s degree in koto performance in 2020. Meanwhile, she recently formed a new band called Orientrance and released the cover of “Ue O Muite Arukou” by Kyu Sakamoto, a.k.a. “Sukiyaki Song”
